Meet our musicians
Carl Larson
Violin
Carl Larson, violinist, hails from Louisville, KY and maintains an active performing and recording career as a member of symphony, chamber, opera, ballet, and session orchestras in New York, Florida, Tennessee, Ohio, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Arkansas, Alabama, and the Dominican Republic. Carl has also toured with San Francisco’s JazzMafia, Deltron 3030, Barry Manilow, and many Nashville artists. Summer engagements include the Endless Mountain, Montreal Jazz, Artosphere, Bard, Interlochen, Aspen, and New Hampshire music festivals.
He holds degrees in Mathematics and Viola Performance, and studied at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. Carl is also actively involved with the Miami, Cincinnati, and Nashville chapters of Classical Revolution, a project which seeks to revolutionize the way live classical music is programmed and heard by offering chamber music performances in highly accessible venues such as bars and cafés, and collaborating with local musicians and artists from various styles and backgrounds.
Sara Soltau
Violin
Violinist, Sara Soltau, received her Masters in Violin Performance Degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where she was a member of their resident graduate string quartet. She holds a Bachelor of Music Performance Degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and furthered her musical studies at The Berlin University of the Arts, The International Music Academy at Pilsen, and the Heifetz Institute. She is currently a freelance musician, educator, and classical radio host in Louisville, KY.
Michael Holub
Viola
Violist, Michael Holub, is a native of Long Island. He received his Bachelor of Music from the Manhattan School of Music in New York City, and a Master of Music from the Cleveland Institute. As an active chamber musician and orchestral performer, Michael has performed across the United States, Europe and Asia, and has been a member of the Sarasota Opera Orchestra for the past 15 seasons. Currently living in Louisville, Kentucky, he can be seen playing with the Louisville Orchestra, Orchestra Kentucky, and the Louisville Ballet.
Maggie McIntyre Muncy
Cello
Cellist, Maggie McIntyre Muncy, was born in Louisville, KY and began studying cello at the age of five in the Suzuki Program at the University of Louisville. She studied under Wayne Krigger, Suzannah Onwood and Louise Harris throughout her early years. At the age of 16 she was accepted into the Governor’s School for the Arts and has since played for the Governor’s dinner in Frankfort, KY representing the GSA alumni. She also participated in the Kentucky Allstate Orchestra for several years throughout high school. After high school, Maggie went on to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Cello Performance at the University of Louisville under Paul York. While there she played in the University of Louisville Orchestra, participated in numerous classical performance ensembles, one of which was the winner of the McCauley Chamber Music Competition. Since college, Maggie continues to play both locally and nationally with numerous classical and rock groups. She plays annually for Abbey Road on the River, the world’s largest Beatles festival, which has taken her on a four-week tour with a group of over 20 musicians to perform the Love Album at places such as Canada, New York and Boston. She is currently teaching cello at Notable Beginnings and hopes to share her musical experiences, education and love for the cello to help excite and motivate her students in finding the enjoyment that she has throughout her musical career.
